Why a Bernedoodle
Three things people fall for, every single time.

Bernedoodles inherit coat texture from both sides, so littermates can look noticeably different. Most land somewhere between a loose wave and a tight curl, often in the classic tri-color pattern of black, white, and tan. Grooming needs scale with curl: wavier coats need a weekly brush, curlier coats need more.

From the Bernese side comes a calm, affectionate, family-first temperament. From the Poodle side comes sharp intelligence and a playful streak. Put together, you get a dog that is easy to train, sweet with kids, and just a little bit of a clown well into adulthood.

Breeders typically offer tiny, mini, and standard Bernedoodles, depending on the Poodle parent's size. A standard can land anywhere from 70 to 90 pounds, while a mini often settles in the 25 to 50 pound range. Ask a breeder for the expected adult weight of both parents before you commit.

Allergic to dogs?
Shedding and dander vary a lot by generation and coat type. A curlier, more Poodle-heavy Bernedoodle sheds less than a straighter-coated one, but no dog is truly hypoallergenic. Read the full breakdown before you count on this breed for allergy relief.
